Description
Vermeer 604 Pro G4 Round Baler for sale at Hendershot Equipment in Decatur & Stephenville, TX
Oncoming rain clouds can ruin a hay producer’s day. That’s why silage is quickly becoming a preferable option for producers everywhere who are tired of waiting on good weather and want high-quality forage for their cattle. According to Michigan State University Extension, silage harvested within five days of the optimal time has a feed quality advantage of $26.46 per ton over dry hay. For some producers, that’s reason enough to make the switch.
Of course, it takes a tough baler to handle the added tonnage of high-moisture hay.
The fourth-generation Vermeer 604 Pro G4 baler is specially designed and assembled in Pella, Iowa, to handle the rigors of baling wet, heavy crops. Combining rugged durability with cutting-edge smart features, the 604 Pro G4 gives you a true silage baler that easily flexes to bale dry hay when you need it.
Vermeer 604 Pro G4 Round Baler Features & Benefits
-
HEAVY-DUTY COMPONENTS As one of the heaviest balers on the market, the G4 is built with heavy-duty large bearings, strong drive shafts, and endless belts. These rugged components are optimized to reduce wear and withstand the continued stress of dense, high-moisture silage production.
-
SPRING-MOUNTED DROP FLOOR The drop floor flexes during baling to help heavy crop flow smoothly into the chamber. If a plug does occur, you can hydraulically lower the floor right from the cab to clear it quickly and get back to baling without digging it out by hand.
-
17-KNIFE CHOPPING SYSTEM Customize your cut length without ever leaving the tractor seat. The two-bank, 17-knife chopping system allows operators to set the baler to use zero, eight, nine, or all 17 knives directly from the cab. This maximizes bale density, improves silage fermentation, and minimizes feed waste.
-
REAR-LOAD NETWRAP SYSTEM Load and route netwrap with ease at the back of the baler. The updated system lets you adjust netwrap tension on a scale of 0 to 100 directly from the cab to maximize edge-to-edge spread. It also includes a poly net pan to help prevent the netwrap from bunching up.
-
ATLAS PRO™ CONTROL SYSTEM The standard Atlas Pro™ control system features a 7-inch color touchscreen display that puts you in complete command. Monitor real-time statistics like moisture levels and bale weight, track data for up to 50 fields, and adjust bale density, net tension, and knife banks—all from inside the cab.
