Farmall Utility 100A Specs
The 100A puts out 101 engine horsepower and 85 PTO horsepower. It comes with a cab, 4WD, an electronic power shuttle transmission and Stage V emissions compliance. The L625 loader is designed for medium utility A series tractors, and service comes due on a 600-hour interval.
That 85 PTO HP figure is the number to focus on. Engine horsepower sells brochures, but PTO horsepower is what actually turns your baler, mower conditioner, rotary cutter or spreader. At 85 PTO HP, the 100A comfortably runs the hay equipment most operations in Wise, Erath and the surrounding counties are pulling.

Who The 100A Is Right For
This is the sweet-spot tractor for a mixed operation. If your week involves cutting and baling hay, feeding round bales, cleaning pens, mowing pasture and running to the far field, the 100A does all of it without being overkill for the chore yard or underpowered in the hay field.
It’s also the model we point people toward when they’ve outgrown a compact. If you’re currently doing loader work with a 45 HP machine and losing time to trips you shouldn’t have to make, the jump to a 100A changes your day more than the spec sheet suggests.
Engine And Emissions
The 100A runs a turbocharged, electronically controlled engine with a rugged tunnel block design and Common Rail Direct Injection. Emissions are handled by the maintenance-free Hi-eSCR2 system, packaged completely under the hood — nothing bolted to the side of the machine blocking your sightlines.
Maintenance is deliberately simple. A 600-hour service interval, a single-piece hood, ground- and platform-level fueling, and engine oil you can check and fill without opening the hood at all. Fewer excuses to skip a check.
The Electronic Power Shuttle
The Electronic Power ShuttleForward to reverse without stopping the tractor. That’s the feature you’ll appreciate roughly four hundred times a day during loader work, and it’s why the power shuttle is the right call for a chore-yard tractor. The 12×12 power shuttle covers most operations, with up to 20×20 coverage available and an optional creeper that drops ground speed to as little as 6 feet per minute. Top road speed reaches 24 mph for moving between fields.
Loader And Hydraulics
The L625 loader is designed for Farmall medium utility A series tractors, and it pairs with a Class 1.0 HD front axle built for load-carrying capability and stability. Together they handle bale stacking, material handling, manure cleanup and round bale feeding. Electro-hydraulic 4WD gives you instant traction at the touch of a button when a loaded bucket starts pushing the front end around in a muddy pen.

Should You Step Up To The 120A?
Fair question, and the answer comes down to one number. The Case IH Farmall 120A delivers 117 engine HP and 99 PTO HP — about 14 more PTO horsepower than the 100A. If your hay equipment already pushes an 85 PTO HP tractor to its limit, or you’re adding acres in the next few seasons, the 120A is worth the step. If your implement lineup is settled and moderate, the 100A saves you money without costing you a single job.
